A day in the life of Israr Abbas


What do you do at Mind the Gap?

We do lots of different work at Mind the Gap. We rehearse for shows, do lots of workshops and do our training. I did the national tour of Don Quixote. I played a character called Sancho Panza. In our training we have done Acting Skills, Front of House, Public Relations, Directing and Technical Skills.

I work with lots of different people. Every Wednesday afternoon we have a company meeting where we talk about what we are doing at the minute and what is coming up.

What are you working on at the minute?

We are working on a show using shadow puppets. I work the puppets and it's hard to keep them in the right place!

We are doing some dancing in the show which has been hard work but good.

What will you be doing today?

We are choosing the music for the show. We will be painting the set and after dinner we are rehearsing the show.

What would you like to do in the future?

I would like to work with computers in a big company like Mind the Gap.
