The course

Each year we run Making Theatre. It is a training programme in theatre skills for people with a learning disability.

Students learn about acting and performance, backstage work like lighting, sound and costumes, and workshop skills.

The course is accredited by the Open College Network. Our students can work towards qualifications whilst on our course.

Five of last year's students have achieved Level 2 in Workshop Skills, equivalent to a GCSE, and for the first time one of our students achieved a Level 3, equivalent to an A-Level, in Acting Skills. To read more about this fantastic result click here

The course runs for 1 year from September to July, with three terms like a school or college. Sessions are Monday to Thursday from 10am to 3pm.

Past students have gone on to Staging Change, a national course for actors with learning disabilities.

You might have seen some of our former students on television too! Read about Edmund and Anna by clicking on their names.
