This week me and Zara are going to tell you about the CYC event we had here on Friday last week.  There were four schools involved with pupils and staff so all together about 70 people arrived - when they first got here we performed Never Again for them and then all split off into groups after the first break.   There were three different groups Ed and Charli had one group, Chris and Emma had one group and so did Rio and Zara.  We played the name game, where one person says their name and performs an action then everyone else copies them to get warmed up.

Each group then put together a few short scenes based on Never Again and the idea of being stopped from doing something.  We asked the school kids if they had ever been stopped from doing something and then acted it out.  In Zara's group we did about a girl who wanted to go somewhere but her wheelchair wouldn't fit through the door.  Ed's group had a scene about a girl who invited a load of friends to go bowling but then her mum and dad said they couldn't go because of the credit crunch.  There was also a scene about someone who needed to finish his homework but had left it until late at night and so his mum and dad took his laptop away.

The school staff were split into two groups as well and while one supported the drama work that we were doing the other group had some training with Vicky.

It was a great day and nice to work with new people.  We were all in the same groups all day but during breaks and lunch we chatted to the pupils we hadn't worked with.

The last part of the day was the performances, the pupils from all the schools performed and we just helped.  The performances were good, there were some sad ones and some hilarious ones too.
