Ed here, Friday was the first of 10 Dance theatre workshops and yours truly is facilitating (that means helping out) for the first five weeks.

The group was made up of different age ranges.  I knew some of them from other Outreach and Mind the Gap projects.

Mia, Karen and Rio did a session each throughout the day.  Mia did the first one which was just name games to get to know each other.

Next session was Rio and we were doing some things around theatre.  We will be working on the gang fight scene from Romeo and Juliet, which is what we will be showing at Bradford's Got Hip Hop Talent.  We will put the work we are doing with Rio with the stuff we are doing with Mia and Karen to make a final Run DMC style performance.

I think the group really enjoyed it - they all said they were coming back next week anyway!

It's the first time we've done an Outreach project with dance as the focus, I think it will work well - it's tiring but fun!  It's also strange being at Mind the Gap on a Friday because I have got used to having Fridays off work, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I'm very much looking forward to next week.  I had a meeting with Rio, Karen and Mia after we finished last week and we have some good ideas about what we'll do.

At the moment I can't think of a catchy Hip Hop style sign off... but I'll come up with one for next week!
