I'm with Stupid

We are Mind the Gap’s Ideas Forum or ‘IF’… because all great ideas start with ‘what IF?’  We are all aged under 25 and have a learning disability.  Our job is come up with ideas about what Mind the Gap should be doing with other young people and then make it happen.

We are working on a project called, I’m with Stupid is all about how the media show young people; especially young people with learning disabilities.  They are shown as helpless and defenseless, which is a stereotype that needs to end.

This project is using three different types of technology; audio (which is just sound), photography and filming.  Everyone involved will learn all about the technology from media experts and get hands-on experience using lots of high-tech equipment.

All of Mind the Gap’s Acting Company and Making Theatre will be involved.  We are working with students who have learning disabilities who go to school in Bradford and District as well.

This blog is for everyone who is part of I’m with Stupid to tell you what’s happening and how it’s going.  But we want to know what you think, so please make comments and tell us what is important to you.
