Mind the Gap Newsletter - December 2009

Dear friend,

This is the last email newsletter of 2009.

It’s been a busy year, we have delivered more projects than ever and celebrated the first full year in our new building with a housewarming for all our neighbours in Lister Mills.

The Mind the Gap office will close on Friday 18th December 2009 and will reopen Monday 4th January 2010.  We have lots of plans for exciting new work next year, including a programme of Dance-Theatre workshops every Friday - keep checking our website for more information.

I wish you the very best for this festive season from everyone at Mind the Gap, and hope to see you in 2010.

Kind regards,
Ben

Making Theatre Graduation Ceremony

Tuesday 1st December was the Graduation Ceremony for Making Theatre class of 2009.  The students were presented with their certificates and portoflios by Mind the Gap President The Rt. Hon The Baroness Lockwood and Board member Margaret Coleman.

It was an opportunity to acknowledge all the students' hard work and celebrate their fantastic achievement.  Congratulations to everyone on Making Theatre 2009 - we’re really proud of you.

Have a look at some photographs of the night in our Gallery section.

Theatre of the Oppressed Northern Network Day

As some of you will know, earlier this year Artistic Director Tim Wheeler attended the International Theatre of the Oppressed Conference.  He was joined by Mind the Gap actor and Musician Jez Colborne and Matt Hargrave from University of Northumbria.

One of the outcomes of the conference was the need for regional TO networks.  On 4th Decemeber Mind the Gap played host to 24 highly-experienced practitioners and theorists to discuss how to progress a Northern network.

We had a fantastic response to the day, and this meeting will act as a springboard to lots of other events and opportunities for development, which we look forward to keeping you updated about.
