Volunteering
Giving some of your time to Mind the Gap is a great way to meet new people, make a practical difference and really get to know the company.
As one of the UK’s leading disability related theatre companies, and an Open College Network (OCN) recognised training provider, there’s always lots going on and we couldn’t make everything happen without the help of a team of fantastic volunteers.
We pay travel expenses, and make sure you are invited along to company events and informal showings… where there’s always a slice of cake with your name on it!
We really appreciate any time you can give, there are lots of areas where your help could make a massive difference:
Front of house – we have a dedicated team who make sure our events and shows run smoothly
Artistic session support - work with the Artistic Team to provide additional learner support for our actors and students
Admin and office functions – whatever your level of experience there’s opportunities in our busy office
Mind the Gap Studios is our fully accessible home, set within the iconic Lister Mills in Manningham - it’s a great place to work, with a fun and friendly team.
If you would like to get involved download the Volunteering Form and send it back to us, we will then get in touch and arrange for you to come in for a informal chat and a tour of the building.
Placements and internships
Each year we get scores of requests from students, practitioners and researchers who want to come on placement, or internship or who want to conduct research into the use of theatre with marginalized communities. We work really hard to accommodate these requests though understandably we are not always able to do so.
If you are thinking of applying to Mind the Gap, please take a look at our blog about what makes a good placement it should provide you with some useful tips and things to think about:
