Kevin Berry, The Stage
Coming to a venue near you, an award-winning version of John Steinbeck’s extraordinary tale of friendship, loyalty and the power of dreams.
This original and inspiring re-telling was the first to feature a full cast of actors with a learning disability and was staged to wide critical acclaim by Mind the Gap in 2000, 2001 and 2005.
With sell out audiences on all previous tours, tickets will go quickly – book now to avoid disappointment
George and Lennie are drifters who have only each other and their shared search for the American Dream. George is the sharp little guy who looks out for Lennie. Lennie is his big-hearted companion who, unaware of his own strength, seems unable to keep out of trouble.
Finding work on a ranch in California, they plan to stay long enough to buy a little place of their own… but their arrival triggers a tragic chain of events that threatens to destroy the very dream that unites them.
Mind the Gap is an award-winning theatre company that works with learning disabled and non-disabled artists as equals.
“This is scorching Steinbeck”
Charles Hutchinson, York Evening Press
“Blows away previous patronising portrayals of learning disabled characters.”

Hello Everybody, I am a member of the acting company and, my name is Jonathan Lewis. I think that mice and men is a wonderful portrayal of two men on a journey, and they are following their dream. But they have barriers to overcome and things happen to them. From Jonathan.
Amazing!
We took a group of 40 Year 10 students to see the performance and were blown away! The girls have not stopped raving about it. It’s emotional, original, thought-provoking and develops the relationship between George and Lennie so well. The acting is superb and I recommend that everyone gets to see it!

Having just been to see Of Mice and Men at Hull Truck, I wanted to say what a brilliant production and a marvelous cast and crew to get all the scene’s so succinct. It was ace and well done to everyone at Mind the Gap.
I’m taking a group from my school to see this performance (very excited). How long is the performance so I know when to book the return coach for?
Many thanks,
Heather
Hi Heather,
The performance is 65 minutes long with no interval, and there is a 10 minute ‘Making of…’ film that will be shown afterwards.
Please do log on after you have seen the show and give us all your feedback.
Kind regards,
Ben
