Phoenix

The more things change the more they stay the same...

The waiting is over. It is the magical time of the Phoenix, the mythical bird that rises from the flames every 500 years. Join local people and professional learning disabled actors to adventure through light and dark at Croydon Clocktower and Lister Mills, Bradford. They search for the stories of those who came looking for work and those left behind. What changes will this rise of the Phoenix bring for the people of Croydon and those of Bradford?

With more magic than Harry Potter, Mind the Gap presents Phoenix, a journey of transformation with Mind the Gap's Acting Company and students, local performers...and you!

The performance took place at Croydon Clocktower and at Lister Mills in Bradford in June 2006. Follow this link to see a picture story about Phoenix

More about Lister Mills

The Old Dye House in the Silk Warehouse at Lister Mills is where Mind the Gap is moving in 2008.

Building work on Mind the Gap's new offices and rehearsal rooms has now got under way. When we finally move in it will be a built-for-purpose workspace with exemplary access. At the moment you need hard hats, high-viz vests and your imagination!

Research Visit to Lotherton Hall

As part of the Phoenix rehearsal process the actors and directors visiting Lotherton Hall bird garden. Observing the way in which different birds move helped the actors develop the characters they are playing. See some photographs of our visit.
