An enchanting tale of a unique friendship. Stig wears rabbit-skins and speaks his own language and uses empty tin cans for a chimney. In his world the outsider is king, nothing is wasted and a dump is filled with endless delights.
Barney has scuffed shoes, grazed knees and dirty fingernails, in his world anything is possible, the mundane becomes magical, summer holidays last forever and the sky is as big as his imagination.

Really enjoyed the show! Great Puppetry, magical storytelling
We had a brilliant time. All the actors were excellent and we felt like we were in the dump, as the set was amazing. Good luck on the tour
I had a nice time watching it. Me and my parents liked it. The setting was amazing and when the lights went out i saw something different. The whole stage was lightened. The actors were really good. It was really funny. I like the chanting where we had to say jam jar, jelly babies. That was really funny.
I found the show beautifully magical, the design was wonderful and Alan was amazing, thanks for a good night out.
Great entertainment. I loved the characters and the ‘transformation show’ at the end was a surprise and delight.
Altogether a very moving and creative performance. The whole evening demonstrated a remarkable degree of commitment and well thought out performances which combined to produce an excellent result.
Uplifting and fun. I shall expect every theatre show I go to in the future to start with instructions to make a hat and if not I’ll want to know the reason why! Midsummer night is ace but I won’t say any more in case you haven’t seen it yet.
I absolutely loved it. The actors were fantastic, the set enchanting and the story magical! My not-quite-two year old granddaughter also enjoyed the show. She sat quietly hrough most of it and hid her face in the ‘scary’ bits.Well done to everyone involved in the production. Now that I’ve been to one of your productions I look forward to seeing many more.
I found the staging and storytelling imaginative and creative and was captivated by the design. The actors really brought the story to life and the audience were taken on a journey. Alan is amazing at puppetry! What a skill! Well done to all involved- have a great tour x
Absolutely fantastic, we all really enjoyed the show and are looking forward to seeing it again in December!!!
All the actors were brilliant and the set was amazing.
Jam jar/jelly babies – have fun on the tour xx

lovely piece – some fantastic performances, and Alan’s puppetry skills are amazing. Loved the transformation of objects into wonderment, and particularly loved the amazing thing near the end (shhhhhhh!). Also loved that the discussion is all about the work and nowt about politics – Mind the Gap prove they can do both with aplomb!
We loved the show – it was very imaginative and well acted. The transformation at the end was amazing too
I thought the entire show was absolutely fantastic… from the enchanting storying telling to the comedy and the set. I enjoyed every moment and found that i had the opportunity to ‘re-live’ my childhood.. good luck with the tour everyone!
Really enjoyed the show, many thanks.
Fully enjoyed Stig, very good light effects, amazing!! my mum’s going to book it on 9th Dec.
Love Zara from Acting Company
Good luck to Dan Collier, Gemma Richardson, JoAnne Haines and Alan Clay
Great show, kept me spellbound
Thank you for the show. Please come to the Junction again with your next show. The staging was really clever. We like the way you used everything on the walls as props. The jam jar window was crazy! I would like my family to see it. I enjoyed the chance to join in with the chanting. I want jelly babies now!!! We will be shouting Jam Jar Jelly Babies on the playground for ages now. I can’t get it out of my head. It was clever doing the whole thing with just 4 actors. Best wishes for the rest of your tour.
Brilliant Production, Strong Performers. Imaginative & versatile set.
I enjoyed it
Just got home from the Darlington show. We all really enjoyed it. Great fun!
Seen last night at Darlington Art’s Centre with my son. Brilliant performance very imaginative and captivating, great venue! Thank-you
Just back from Stig, what a wonderful, magical, funny, touching piece of theatre it is. All the young people adored it and we had jam jar, jelly baby all the way home.
We loved it, totally awesome actors and set simply brilliant. My daughter is only 5 and was transfixed from start to end. She is still saying Jelly Baby, Tin Can!!!
Great!! Off to buy some jelly babies.
Really enjoyed it. Funny & entertaining
WELL DONE!!!!! We saw you at Darlington last night – SUPERB!!! It was enthralling, innovative, stunning, – just exceptional.
Can’t wait for the next one!!!!! Stig of the Dump rocks
Thank you for bringing us an exquisite piece of small-scale theatre. I really enjoyed it last night: more importantly, so did the audience! The transformation scene at the end worked a treat. A triumph of small resources and high imagination creating real magic.
Really enjoyed the show. Found I got really drawn into the story. Very clever set! The children were fascinated by the fantastic UV effects.
my son, aged 6, loved it
I loved it, it was enjoyable to watch.
Fab Show, Amazing Cast!
What an enchanting and magical retelling of such a lovely story. You really captured the spirit of the book as I remembered it from my own childhood. Oh and… my little boy has been saying ‘jam jar’ pretty much continuously ever since – beginning to get a litte wearing… Congratulations to everyone for a great performance!
Awesome show tonight, really enjoyed it, Thanks for a great performance.
Stig was a brilliant show. The puppet was delightful and my son loved the way he swapped seamlessly with the masked actor. UV effects were magical and the performers a joy to watch. Two days later it is still making me smile. My son thought it was very faithful to the book too, which matters a lot to him.
Thanks again for a great evening. Look forward to your next show.
I saw the show on Saturday and thought it was a wonderful piece of children’s theatre – imaginative and engaging and a remarkable set
Dear Team,
Our family thoroughly enjoyed Stig at the Roses theatre Tewkesbury last weekend.
We were disappointed for the company that the theatre was only half full as we thought it was fab. We are Mum and Dad and 4 boys age 12,9,6 and 5 and we all found it great fun and very inventive. The boys were so inspired they came home and made a Stig ‘dump’ in their bedroom from a giant cardboard box ( and ‘fell ‘ into it from their top bunk bed!)
When we booked it we were a bit confused about the age being ‘from age 8’ and I just wondered if that had deterred some potential audiences who would have loved it.
I think something like say ‘suitable for all ages with fun and imagination from 5 up’ would have been just right.
Just wanted you to know we enjoyed it and wished more people had!
Good luck with all your productions –it seems like a great company.
Anne (44)Rob (56)Jamie(12)Billy (9)Alfie(6 nearly 7) and Tom( just 5)
I Liked Stig, he was really funny.
Somehow I’d never come across the Albany, really fun venue. Loved it!!!
I liked Lou because she was funny
I liked the lights and the smoke and the patterns.
I like when he kept saying jelly babies, jam jar!
I liked that we put on the hats and they lit up.
I liked it and it was very good.
I liked when Barney fell through the hole.
Great fun! Fantastic! Thanks!
Fantastic!!!
A fantastic performance. Well done!!
Ingenious show. UV light, brilliant!. Great Puppet. Lovely Actors!
Everything was wonderfully clever and I thought it was a lovely piece.
Please thank all those at Mind the Gap, and in particular Tim, for a very enjoyable evening at Stig of the Dump. It was great fun, very well acted and directed.
With thanks, again,
