At Mind the Gap, learning is more than just gaining new skills—it’s about growing in confidence, making friends, and having fun. “Classes are always fun, and we learn a lot because it is not boring or dull”, one student shared. Whether it’s theatre, dance, or music, every session is designed to be engaging, supportive, and full of energy.

Mind the Gap Academy’s One Day courses offer an exciting, supportive, and accessible introduction to theatre, dance, and music for people with learning disabilities and autism. Led by experienced tutors who know how to bring out the best in every student, these courses are all about developing skills, building confidence, and—most importantly—having fun.

What makes studying at Mind the Gap truly special is the sense of community. Learning alongside like-minded people, students build friendships, share ideas, and support one another in a welcoming and inclusive space. Whether rehearsing a scene, refining a dance move, or composing a melody, students are surrounded by peers who share their passion and tutors who encourage them to grow. The joy of collaborating, performing, and celebrating each other’s achievements is what makes this experience unforgettable.

Each course is tailored to different interests:

  • One Day Theatre explores improvisation, character development, and script work, helping students find their voice on stage.
  • One Day Dance blends movement, improvisation, and contemporary dance styles to create new choreography inspired by each dancer’s unique way of moving.
  • One Day Music is perfect for anyone who loves rhythm and melody, offering the chance to play instruments, experiment with improvisation, and compose original pieces.

Students don’t just learn—they perform. Every course includes opportunities to showcase new skills in front of an audience, creating a space where talent and creativity can shine.
