DANC Event with TripleC and Mind the Gap

Connect, Create and Celebrate: A New DANC Event for Disabled Creatives in Bradford

DANC event at Mind the Gap

Mind the Gap and TripleC are teaming up for the first-ever joint DANC (Disabled Artists’ Networking Community) event, which will take place at Mind the Gap on Thursday, April 24, from 4 pm to 7 pm.

If you’re a deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent (DDN) creative — especially if you have a learning disability — this event is for you. DANC events are a brilliant way to meet other creatives, share your experiences, and build connections. Whether you’re just starting out or have been working in the arts for years, you’ll find a welcoming space where your voice matters.

It’s also a great opportunity for people working in theatre, TV, film or the wider arts world who want to connect with talented disabled creatives and help make the industry more inclusive.

What to expect

This is going to be an inspiring, relaxed and friendly evening where you can:

  • Hear from leading professionals in TV and theatre during a panel discussion

  • Meet new people and share your own experiences in a supportive environment

  • Enjoy free tea and coffee while you chat and network

  • End the evening with a celebration showcase of creative work

Who’s on the panel?

We’ll be joined by a fantastic group of industry guests, including:

  • Tim O’Mara – TV director and writer (Emmerdale, Coronation Street)

  • Ben Tagoe – Writer (EastEnders, Emmerdale)

  • Leon Harrop – Actor (Ralph & Katie)

  • Olivia Barr – Casting Director (Royal Exchange Theatre)

  • Nicola Bolton – Agent

  • Justine Potter – TV producer and Head of Scripted Development

What is DANC?

DANC is a growing community of over 2,000 deaf, disabled and neurodivergent creatives. Created by TripleC, a BAFTA-winning, disabled-led organisation, DANC helps break down barriers in the arts and screen industries. For the past seven years, DANC events have supported creatives to build careers, form partnerships, and get jobs. This is your chance to be part of that movement.
