In Memory of Geoff Middleton

Mind the Gap was very sad to hear about the passing of our dear friend Geoff Middleton in January at the age of 97.

A lady in a white jumper with dark shoulder length hair sits on the left of the picture next to an older gentleman with a bald head. He is wearing a blue t-shirt and brown cardigan. Both people are wearing glasses and are smiling.

Dad of Susan Middleton, one of Mind the Gap’s first touring performers, Geoff was a great friend to the company from the very early days. He was always available for advice, a friendly chat, and a joke or three!

Julia Skelton, Executive Director reflects, “Geoff was a truly lovely gentleman, with a warm sense of humour and wonderful generosity of spirit. From Mind the Gap’s early days in the late 80s and early 90s he was always happy to lend a hand, and was a font of Bradford local knowledge. His support for his beloved daughter Susan (pictured alongside Geoff above) enabled her to be among our first group of successful touring performers, and continues to be among our longest serving company members. He was a friend to the company to the end, and will be very much missed by everyone who knew him”.

Geoff will be greatly missed by everyone at Mind the Gap. Our condolences and thoughts are with Susan and his family at this sad time.
