Magna Carta on Trial
Activities
May Half Term Workshop
We worked with 19 young people over four days during the May Half Term in 2015 to learn about the Magna Carta with a University of Leeds Professor. We also took part in visits to the Bradford Law Courts to meet HH Judge Jonathan Rose, explored and interpreted history at Bolling Hall Museum and created performances about the Magna Carta.
“It was a pleasure to speak to a packed courtroom of young participants about the importance of the Magna Carta and respectful debate in the resolution of jury trials.” – HH Judge Jonathan Rose
Lincoln Heritage Visit
In July 2015, 19 Young people involved in the project visited Lincoln Castle to see one of the only surviving copies of the Magna Carta. They also had a guided tour of Lincoln Cathedral and saw the medieval houses on Steep Hill.
