“I have spent so much of my life with Mind the Gap, it’s like one big family to me. Over the years the company has helped me master my skills in acting and music. Whilst I still enjoy performing on stage and creating shows, I have taken on more work as a music director for the company and am currently working on the music for Leave the Light on for Me.”

Jez Colborne has been with Mind the Gap for over twenty years and has taken lead roles in numerous productions including Cyrano, Of Mice and Men, Contained and ZARA. In 2005, Jez embarked on a road trip across Route 66 in America on the back of then Artistic Director, Tim Wheeler’s, Harley Davidson. The story of this journey was made into the show On The Verge, which toured nationally and Internationally.

Jez is also the mastermind behind some of the company’s most successful productions including Gift, Trickster and Irresistible, which toured for many years including performances at the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad and international appearances in Germany and Switzerland. Jez also won the Eurovision Song Contest for Disabled People in 2004.

Jez enjoys walking, song writing, playing piano and is a keen gamer. He is also great at impersonating people and cartoon characters – ask him to do his Donald Duck for you!
