Community Cast Call Out

Mind the Gap is on the lookout for people from the Bradford district to join the community cast of its new outdoor show, Leave the Light on for Me.

A head and shoulder photograph of the main characters Maisie and Jenny. Maisie (on the right) is Black woman with brown eyes and black hair. She has her mouth open, as if surprised, and is looking upwards. Jenny (on the left) is a white woman with blue eyes and ginger chin length hair. She has her mouth open, as if concerned, and is looking directly at the camera. They are buried in a pile of colourful illustrated rubbish. The rubbish pile extends into the distance where it meets a polluted sea occupied by an oil rig, a cooling tower pouring out smoke and a cityscape. Other illustrated elements include a tornado and a plane flying overhead.

Leave the Light on for Me explores the themes of climate change in a fun and playful way and will be touring UK Festivals this summer, including four performances in Bradford parks in June. That’s where you come in! We want to make the Bradford performances in Manningham and Keighley extra special by involving people from the local community.

The community cast needs to reflect the diversity of our amazing city so you don’t need to have any drama experience, just ideas and energy to share!

We will be running Taster sessions in Manningham and Keighley at the following dates and times:
Wednesday 20 April, 6pm – 8pm: Central Hall, Keighley
Saturday 23 April, 2pm – 4pm: Mind the Gap Studios

Rehearsals will be every week at the same times and days of the week until performances in early June.

The best way to find out about being involved in the community cast is to contact Jess using the form below or by calling 01274 487390.
